Everything you might want to know before your first session — and a closer look at how I work.
I work eclectically. This means that I use whatever approach actually suits you. That said, everything I do falls roughly into three parts and it's prevalent even when we're doing hypnotherapy.
I use Gestalt, staying with what's happening for you right now, instead of only unpacking the past. I bring in ACT to make room for difficult thoughts and feelings instead of wrestling them into submission, while still moving toward what matters to you — along with person-centred approaches and narrative therapy, which helps you notice the stories you tell about yourself, and rewrite the ones that no longer serve you.
Rooted in somatic work — I'm currently training in Somatic Experiencing, and lean on it heavily, with a focus on the nervous system. This is also where lifestyle comes in: movement, physical activity, what you're eating, and sometimes a blood checkup — your body often holds what your words haven't caught up to yet.
The more philosophical part — talking about meaning, values, and who you want to be while you're here. It's also about the human-to-human connection therapy creates, and helping you get back in tune with what your soul actually values.
Hypnosis is a state of focused, relaxed attention where you become less caught up in what's around you, and more open to suggestion. That's what hypnotherapy uses: gentle, guided suggestions that help move you through challenging states that you're unable to process in your waking life. It also helps you move away from beliefs that aren't serving you, toward ones that are. If part of you has been carrying something untrue and harsh about yourself, this is a way of working with that belief directly.
A session usually starts with settling in. I'll guide you into that relaxed state slowly until your attention narrows and your body eases. From there, we move into the suggestion itself: picturing things differently, rehearsing a version of a situation where you feel more at ease than you do now, or simply shifting how a belief sits in you. Hypnosis doesn't override your will, and you can always reject a suggestion that doesn't feel right.
And yes, we can also do past life regression through hypnosis.
Group work is when people come together to work on a particular topic. It's more than each person working through their own material side by side. Done well, the group becomes a shared space where people learn to be around each other, take responsibility for their part in it, and genuinely help one another, not just witness. We pay attention to what's shifting in the room, in the relationships and exchanges between people.
As your facilitator, I respond to that with care and insight, session to session. Being around people who share similar concerns yet not your exact context can both empower you and loosen assumptions you didn't know you were carrying.
Beyond all of this, the work is experiential — we build it together, through questions, conversation, and a lot of listening. I lead with safety and connection first, because the relationship itself is where the healing happens. Expect occasional venting about life, and openly feminist, human-rights-rooted values underneath it all.
Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can finally pause, open up, and address your mental health concerns or needs with a therapist.
Together, you explore the problem, understand yourself better, and learn tools to cope and grow.
It's a collaborative process that helps you feel lighter, clearer, and more in control of your life.
A therapist is a professional trained to help individuals with mental or emotional health issues through a variety of treatments.
Yes — for most people who give it a real shot. The biggest factor is fit: how well you and your therapist work together, and how consistently you show up for yourself. That's why we start with a free intro call, to check that before you commit to anything.
No reason is too small
Feeling stressed, anxious, low, or 'stuck'
Processing trauma or a loss
Navigating relationships, including family and friends
Building self-esteem, confidence, and boundaries
Going through a big life change
Building a new skill or habit
Managing a chronic illness
Making sense of a diagnosis, like ADHD
...and for reasons you can't quite put into words yet, or anything not mentioned here
so what does a session with me actually look like?
From signing up, to how the process of therapy itself moves over time.
Fill out the short screening form on the Book page.
I reach out to you directly, usually on WhatsApp.
A no-cost, 15-minute call to see if we're a good fit.
We settle on a dedicated, recurring time that works for you.
A quick step covering confidentiality and how we'll work together.
And we begin.
Getting to know you and your story — your strengths and values — through dialogue that builds insight into your current issues and needs.
Making slow, creative adjustments to how you approach your challenges — trial and error, often through homework, to find what actually works for you.
Observing whether the changes are holding and effective — making edits along the way, and checking that they work beyond the therapy room too.
What actually happens in the room, though, is a lot less clinical than a flowchart makes it look. We'll be talking...a lot! I also bring in creative activities where they're useful, not just straight conversation. And there's a fair amount of humour along the way; taking your struggles seriously doesn't mean every session has to feel heavy.
Honestly, a lot of people aren't sure — and that's completely fine. The sign-up form has a question for exactly this ("What do you think you would opt for?") with an "Unsure" option. I'll help you figure out the right fit once I understand more about what you're looking for.
Individual Therapy is Rs. 2,500 per session and Hypnotherapy is Rs. 3,000 per session, for Indian residents. If you're based outside India, the fee is worked out based on your employment — we'll sort that out together once we're in touch.
Currently, I offer only online sessions. If you're based in Bangalore, we can discuss whether an offline session is possible.
The full policy is also laid out in the informed consent form we go through before we start. Here's the short version:
Yes — what you share in session stays between us, with a few standard exceptions around safety, which I'll walk you through before we begin working together.
I speak English, Assamese, and Hindi.
That's okay. Signing up doesn't commit you to anything — it starts a conversation, not a countdown. If you have questions before you're ready to begin, you're welcome to just message me directly on WhatsApp instead.
